Painting Experience:

• While a student at the Overseas School of Rome, I used drawing and painting as a means of visual note taking in art history classes. Gradually my focus in art shifted from the historical to the applied. I have taken classes at various institutes over the years, but my most significant education has come from working under experienced painters. In 1983 I concentrated my studio work at Holy Cross with Michael Tang sj. In 1989 I began oil painting under the guidance of my mentor and friend Mr. Thomas Buechner. I travel quite frequently, painting in Europe and the US. While on sabbatical in France (1998-1999), I spent the year painting landscape and still life in Provence.
